Staying in

We are probably like most of you adjusting to our current reality. Staying at home is the new everything and it does seem so strange. We are missing visiting our lovely customers and sharing plans and ideas for Easter and the summer.  All our bars, hotels, restaurants and pubs are closed and some of our retailers. They too are adjusting to the new reality.

On a commercial note we are pleased to read that the government is pledging them financial support so they can keep their staff on and their businesses ticking over until they reopen. We are probably too small for any grants yet are glad our customers will get them, it means they can pay us and their other suppliers.

Our family have a few people working in health and they are under considerable stress. We miss seeing them too yet absence makes the heart grow fonder and we are making lots of calls and messaging frequently.  At Gin HQ we have been spring cleaning and tidying and preparing to catch up when we all can.

On a personal note this unexpected gift of time means lots of records are being played we dedicate to our currently closed businesses. We are well served by independent shops and business here so are okay for food and drink.

We hope you and yours can keep safe and look forward to future freedoms. We remember seeing film of pit ponies when released from the mines into open fields.  The joy in their leaping and galloping was tangible. May it be so for all of us before long.
